My A5 Weekly and Daily Inserts!

Soo I got irritated by free printables not being editable and them not fitting my needs..So I got our my handy dandy Pages application on my Mac and decided to make my own. Trust me, it was really hard at first because I didn't know how to format or print it. But eventually I got the hang of it.

Weekly

Filled out:

I HATE when inserts combine Saturday and Sunday into one little box!!! They are two huge separate 24-hour segments!
....So I put them in separate ones and added an extra box for goals, quotes, or anything you want! The line next to the day of the week is for the date (which I forgot about).
I really like this setup. I will probably change the colors to orange and purple for October, red and green for December, etc. I'll post updated ones each month if you'd like me too.
Now for my:

Daily

 Filled out:

Ignore that weird blue stripe, I accidentally printed on the wrong side.
In my school, we have seven different class periods, hence the #1-7. Then there is the handy to-do list and meal tracker. I left a space in the middle for stickers, doodles, pedometer tracking, water tracking, weather, or whatever you need it for! The last blank line part is just for a journal or whatever you want to use it for.

Here are the links to download them!

Keep in mind that these are A5 size! The pdf is a regular page size (8.5x11) so it will print two A5's per Letter page.
Don't ask about printing double sided or other formats because I have absolutely no idea how to, lol!

Here is a great blog I found helpful if you're new to printing or want to do it more efficiently: Philofaxy.blogspot.com
It is a very helpful blog with like a thousand different posts about everything Filofax!

Have fun with your new inserts! :)

Welcome to My Filofax +Pictures!

Hello! Instead of buying a $100 Filofax planner, I got an A5 "half size" planner off of Amazon for only $10! It's literally the exact same thing as a $100 Filofax.

Here are some pictures I took of mine:

Its a pretty big and sturdy planner! I've been using it for a month and I have had no complaints.
Here it is compared to my hand. (I have a small hand)
Here are the measurements:
2 x 7.5 x 10 inches
Here it is full. It includes weekly and monthly inserts for 2015. It also has to-do lists, finance tracker, address book, and note section.

Here's the wallet pocket. Theres a zipper pouch in between the black&white patterned sheet and pink sticky notes. It doesn't hold much but it works well for extra sticky notes!

I am in love with it!
I probably will not use the weekly inserts for 2015 but I probably will use the monthly inserts. Here are some pics:

They're a bit boring for me.
Here are some pics of free printables that I have punched and put into my planner.

If you'd like any of these printables, just ask for the pdf in the comments!

I will be posting more about my own personal inserts soon, too!

Why I Can't Keep a Journal..

Do you ever get so overwhelmed by something so great that you get too intimidated to try it?
Yeah, that's me.
Or maybe its just my anxiety.
Anyway.
That's how I am with creative things. Journals, scrapbooking, keeping an agenda, etc.
Although I have trained myself to keep a daily planner, I cannot do any of the former activities.
Don't ask me why, its just how my brain works.
Search 'journal' on Pinterest.com and you will find these amazing, exquisite ideas and pages full of creatively-drawn doodles and heart shapes with random words around them.
Here are some examples:

Sorry, the spacing is all messed up and I don't feel like fixing it.
But seriously, ya'll.
They're gorgeous!!
I have a board on Pinterest dedicated to journalling alone, but still I cannot seem to start. I see all these prompts (check out this one) and start to get overwhelmed.
But while writing this, I decided that I will start. I don't know what notebook to start in, but I WILL start.

For resources, check out my Pinterest account or just search 'journal prompts'. I will be doing mine randomly and may or may not post them on here. I will post them here if I really like them :)

Thanks for reading! I will update you about my progress! :)

Senior Year!

Senior year is upon us.
So many lasts. So many firsts.
Your last English teacher.
Your last Spanish teacher yelling at you in Español: ¡Despertarse!
This year is extremely bittersweet. Bitter in the way that we are going to be thrown out into the real world in exactly 179 days. [Yes, I am counting]. Sweet in the way that we will finally be done with this society's hardest and proudest accomplishment: finishing high school. We are expected to shape the rest of our lives in these four, short years.

Okay. Besides that..
Here is how my senior year will go:
My school day consists of 7 class periods.
My first and second hour will be CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) training.
My third hour is AP Biology. I know, I'm in for a challenge. I like it so far, though.
My fourth hour is Contemporary Issues, which is an easy A. I have taken it before but I like the teacher and the class so why not retake it.
My fifth hour is College Prep English. I expect it to be a fairly easy course since English is usually my forte.
Sixth hour consists of Government. Meh. Nothing good but nothing bad. Hopefully it'll be interesting enough to keep me awake.
Seventh hour is the dreaded mathematics class: College Prep Algebra. I have once almost failed an Algebra class but I did okay in Geometry. I expect this course to be mildly challenging since, duh, its math. I also receive credit from the local community college for taking the class. I will be placed into College level math when I go there.
Well, thats how my next eighteen weeks will go!
After that comes winter break.
Then the real shit happens.
Omg: college applications, acceptance letters, graduation, agh.
I will be still taking AP Bio, CP English, CP Algebra, and my CNA classes. Instead of doing lots of book work in my CNA class, which we are doing this semester, we will be completing our clinical hours during our second semester. Fun!!! I can't wait!
Good luck with whatever you're doing this semester, my dear reader.

Warm snuggly hugs,
KaTiE.
[I'm secretly a five-year-old.]

The Strain FX Review

So there's this new show on FX called The Strain. Of course I checked it out because hello anything on FX is good!

Basically it's about this plane that lands in America. It came from Britain/England. When it arrives in the JFK airport, it is labeled a 'dead' airplane because there is no sign of life from outside of the plane and all of the doors are sealed. We later find that there are four survivors and two hundred and six dead for no reason.

Ephraim Goodweather:

Is the first to come onto the plane. Eph and his partner, Nora Martinez, find no sign of struggle, wounds, or anything that might explain the situation. What they do find is an excessive amount of ammonia with no sign of a source.

Abraham Setrakian is a strange old man who owns a pawn shop. He's pretty badass. Later in the show, he comes and tells the CDC that they need to destroy all of the 'dead' bodies. But the bodies aren't actually dead, they are in a zombie-like state. They wake up, kill the medical examiner, and leave to wreck havoc on the city.

And that's as far into the season I have gotten!
I hope everyone can enjoy this show, too!

Med Head- By James Patterson -- A review

Taken from the Google Book site. All rights to those they belong to..

First off, this is by James Patterson. Which obviously makes it AMAZING!
I've read his Maximum Ride series at least a dozen times.
Donnie has read every single book he's ever written.
Mr. Patterson holds a dear spot in our hearts :)
Anyway,
This amazing book is about a child, Cory, who is diagnosed at an early age with Tourette's syndrome and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
It is written by Cory's dad and James Patterson. But, it is also in Cory's perspective, which is interesting. I bet that was really difficult for James and Hal (Cory's dad) to do, but they did it. Very successfully, I might add. Cory's story is chaotic since Day 1. He tries over 60 different medications (some of which I have been on and unfortunately experimented the same bad side effects), but nothing helps. To be honest, I am only on page 145, which is chapter 40. (Sorry, I also am plagued with OCD and couldn't end on an odd-numbered chapter or odd-numbered page)...
At this point, Cory is in the second semester of his freshmen year of high school. I find his story very inspiring even though I haven't had any of the tic-like symptoms. I have experienced the outbursts and random rage, though. I don't know how they did it, but James and Hal really made this seem like it was written from Cory's perspective. I envy their skills.
Since my boyfriend, Donnie, is very picky with his books (he mostly reads James Patterson and rarely strays from him), I cannot wait for him to get back from his cruise so he can read this too. I am excited for a few reasons. 1. Because Cory has some OCD-like symptoms. It will help Don realize that my condition is 100% real. I don't fake it. I don't know why anyone would ever exaggerate something and say "Oh I'm so OCD". No. OCD is awful. It takes your self control and throws it out the window. I freak out on people at work daily with no other excuse then "sorry, I couldn't help it". Things just need. to. be. my. way..
Anyways
2) Because its a very heartwarming story. That sounds cliche but there are a few times that I've teared up while reading this book. And I rarely cry during books!
Ex:
Pg 47-48
"Our family had recently watched a comedy that made fun of different kinds of people with terrible conditions. One was a woman who kept cursing out loud, and she explained that it was because she had Tourette's syndrome. I remember being so surprised.
"Does Tourette's make people say bad words?" I whispered to my father.
He looked very angry, but not at me.
"No, this is a bad movie, Cory. They make fun of people who can't help themselves, and they shouldn't."
And that was the way I learned about the cursing tic. It's called Coprolalia.
I go to sleep wondering why grown-ups would want to make a movie that pokes fun at people who can't help themselves. And I wonder if they still would if there was somebody in their own family like me."

I'll admit. I cried a little.
If you haven't read this book, you need to.
Now, I'm off to finish it!
Another edit soon to come!

Guide to Swagbucks.com -{Saving money}

Hello there. If you haven't noticed, I love coupons and saving money!!

Here is one of my favorite sites to use to earn money:

Swagbucks.com

This site is incredibly EASY and fun to use!
You earn points for watching videos, answering polls, and other easy stuff. Once you start earning points, its hard to stop!!

Ways to earn:

Codes - Swagbucks codes are only valid for a few hours. If you download the Swagbucks app onto your phone, it will alert you when a code is posted on the blog, Facebook, or twitter. Be careful because they expire quickly. SB codes are usually around 3-4 SBs each.

Shop&Earn - You can shop online at stores like Amazon, Walmart, Staples, Hotels.com, Best Buy, Old Navy, Macy's, ThredUp, Nordstrom, QVC, Panasonic, Apple, Living Social, Walgreens, Toys R Us, Home Depot, and Children's Place!
You get (on average) about 2-3 swag bucks per dollar you spend.
EX: Spend $30 on Amazon, earn 90 SBs (which roughly translates to 90 cents)
500 SBs will get you a $5 Amazon gift card. So its fairly easy to rack up points this way.
I have not used this technique yet but I definitely will when I need something from Amazon!

Watch - Swagbucks has an app but all the app really does is allow you to put in codes and answer daily polls. Download the Swagbucks video app and you can get a few points for just watching videos. Its something like watching 5 videos lets you earn a few swagbucks.  The videos are actually interesting. There are different categories such as music videos, current news, cooking shows, fashion videos, home&garden, anything you can think of really.
I use this technique a lot because you can just open the app and click a random video and let it play for awhile while you do something else. (shh, don't tell SB!)

Couponing - Another helpful section! These coupons are all FREE and are valid at most grocery stores, a lot are registered with Walmart too. You get 10 SB's per coupon you use, which is amazing! I have not used this option yet but I will soon!!

Answer - Whether it be surveys or polls, they all earn you money. Paid surveys are pretty rare to have since you must apply for the surveys. They are usually long and boring but the ones I've done have gotten me 60 SBs.

There are many more ways to earn on SBs. Its a few fun and interesting site. You can also get SBs from reading book intros, EntertainmentCrave.com (which is like a news site kinda, its interesting) and lots of random stuff. I currently have 424 SBs so I'm pretty close to getting my first $5 gift card!! :D

<-Here are some cards you can earn

When signing up, you should use my referral link: swagbucks.com/refer/LovelyLerchLady to get bonus SBs for yourself and for me!!!
Good luck in your Swagbucks journey!

Spring Cleaning!

Hello, lovelies! So I am currently addicted to scrapbooking! In my small amount of free time, I'm either on Pinterest or scrapbooking!! I had this idea to bribe myself..I had to organize before I started scrapbooking again. And well, it worked!!
Here are some tips and what I've done to spark my spring organization!

So I started with this ^
And turned it into….
Look how much space!!!! Just by turning everything sideways!

Also..
Here is my swimsuit/pajama drawer! I embraced the weird swimsuit forms and made it into something functional!!

PS. I'm not crazy, I just enjoy organization :)

Also, embracing the weird bra shape again….

 This beautiful drawer! :P
Don't even get me started on my dresser and vanity…It will always be cluttered. No matter how hard I try!!

And the result of this: a big donation box!! Yay!! Just back in February, I donated two huge trash bags full of clothes to the Salvation Army! I love donating things and thrift shopping!

Thanks for reading! I hope I inspired someone to clean out their wardrobe too! Its already made a difference in my daily life. Instead of throwing clothes on the floor, I fold them up first then throw them on the floor, haha!

Bye lovelies,
~K
